Our Favorite Places in USA & Europe for Travel, Fun and Culture

About US John and Lynn – Road Trips and Travel Experiences – As Baby Boomers, we’ve both been fortunate to do a good amount of traveling in our 20s, 30s, and 40s. Some of this travel included climbing pyramids, hang gliding, zip-lining, surfing, snorkeling, sailing, skiing, cruising, touring museums. Of course we enjoy the local food and sites and music and culture. We’ve experienced the journey.

Now, a little older, we still may enjoy all of these things, but realize the travel experience is different as we all get older. Our focus now is a little more on the nuances of travel. When to go, what to pack (and what not to), what to be aware of, when to book / fly, — all about how to make travel as easy and enjoyable as possible. We will also bring up some of the simpler experiences often bypassed for something maybe a little touristy (we do them both!)

John
John grew up in Ireland and England and worked in UK, Copenhagen, Geneva, as well as South Korea, Saudi Arabia and USA. He’s traveled extensively for work and loved the adventure of it all as well as the people, culture, food, music, art, and language a new destination offered. He will openly state he took a job just for the travel involved and loved every minute of it. It was and still is exciting!
John also paints with acrylics and we share some of his artworks that were inspired by places we have visited along the way.

Lynn
My love for travel began at 15 with a 6-week trip through the state of California. This was a big deal for someone who grew up in Cleveland and hadn’t really left the state before.

In California, in 1972, I ate my first taco in San Diego, learned to body surf at Torrey Pines Beach, walked through the redwoods, swam in Lake Tahoe, rode the cable cars in San Francisco, listened to a Mariachi Band, and experienced the culture shift and poverty in Tijuana and Mexicali.
With a broadened perspective on people and places, I returned home after this incredible adventure, excited about future travels.

One thing about being a Boomer (and for us, being retired) is we can travel during the week and obscure times of the year. This helps to avoid the crowds and some of the costs in traveling the high season. We will try to give you a good balance of our travel experiences with a focus on places, what to do, where to stay. But also the history, transportation (flights / rental cars / trains), costs, safety, legalities, seasonal issues, music, language, and food! We will try to inform you as much as possible on what to pack, what to expect, and what you may want to avoid.
Travel enriches your life and adds experiences that should not be missed.
Enjoy traveling with us!
